Taryil K'tyth
(Updated 12/9/09) Full Name: Taryil K'Tyth Nicknames: None Biographical: Level: Low Class: Coercer - Claims herself to be a mage or a scribe. RP Power: Normal
Race: Teir'dal Gender: Female Date of Birth: Weeping 27, Year 4 Age: 136 Hair: Dark blackish-brown with purplish highlights, often kept up in a ponytail, or messy bun. Although she lets it down often enough, and she occasionally seems to take the time to put a wave in it. Skin: Purple, of the slightly paler variety. Eyes: Dark, could be purple or blue. One can't quite tell. Height: Average. Weight: Slender.
Place of Residence: Neriak Place of Birth: Neriak
Relatives: The great family of K'tyth. Supposedly the rest of her family has a lust for Prexus, and thus are all out sailing on some grand unheard of Thexian ship. Though some question the story. Enemies: Plenty, though who they are. She could care less. Allies: Caryl, Lexavriel, Maeglos, Duvessa, anyone without a grudge or disdain for Taryil..
Occupation: Scribe/Scholar Crafting: Sage
Apperance: Taryil is a small-statured Teir'dal, though not too noticeably so, and her height seems to waver depending on her footwear. Her skin is purple, and inky as most Teir'dal are. Though not a deep shade, more akin to a violet.
She is often dressed in finery, though nothing too over the top. Her fabric of choice is velvet, and of varying color. As of late, white and ivory seem to be favored, as well as green or russet. She seldom wears jewelry, but if she does, it is usually silver, nothing terribly expensive but worthwhile anyway.
Most people seem to find her hair the most peculiar of features, as it is a deep, musty brown. Much like the color of mud, with hints of purple-blue streaks. Despite the bizaare shade, it does not appear to be dyed, or modified in any way, and when asked about it. She says that her father used to tease her, saying that she played in the mud too much as a youth.
Very rarely, although it is possible. The eyes may catch a glimmer of what appears to be a gold rune on her chest. While wearing lowcut shirts, it is visible on her left side.
Fashion of Choice: Robes, or lightweight cloth. No matter how skimpy, or covering. She has a fondness for velvet in any sort of garment. Though she's often seen wearing it in a blouse, or a somewhat revealing dress. Armor of Choice: Much the same. She wears heavier robes into battle, of course. But she doesn't ever fight much, blood makes her queasy. Weapons of Choice: None, unless a book counts.
Special Abilities: I wouldn't say she has any particularly special ability. Though some raise questions as to whether or not she changes her shape, given the shade of her hair. Although I'd consider Illusions of any kind to be an Enchanter ability, and not anything 'special' but rather just an obvious trademark of an Enchanter. Personality: Pleasant, though a bit questionable at times. Taryil has a tendency to be critical of others when she thinks they are deserving, even if it's bad manners to say so. She's also a bit of a gossip, despite her rather elusive, closed-off nature. Alignment: Passive. One could consider her neutral, if she even cared enough to separate herself from both sides of the moral fence. Though it's been said that she'd sooner trust a high elf with Neriak than the Queen.
Motivations: Depending on the situation, it could be as simple as a piece of free cake, or a footrub. However in the grand scheme of things..Taryil is a bit of a knowledge-seeker, even if the knowledge she is absorbing is as simple as the marriage-customs of frogloks.
She also likes to pass the time, by whatever means possible as if waiting for something important to happen to her. One might speculate that simple-life bores her.
Disposition: Curious, Ambitious, and perhaps a bit Melancholy. Outlook: Controlled, Reserved, and Optimistic. Most of the adjectives that apply to those words.
Religion/Philosophy: There are two emotions stronger than all. Love, and hate. We divide them into many subgroups, and smaller, less painful words to utter. But intertwined they both are at times. For both can kill, and both can breathe life. Though it is raised to question how.
Taryil would be a-typical if she did not follow Innoruuk. So she does, though she considers the envelopment of emotion to be a rather foolish past time simply because of how easy it is to manipulate those gripped by emotion. But nonetheless, she praises the Prince of Hate, as her creator.
Though one could speculate she is a closet follower of Terris Thule, given Terris' realm.
Sexuality: Unspecified, or rather, Unknown. As Taryil doesn't seem to do much lusting, but rather respecting. She admires both men and women who are built well.
However the emotional attachment does not seem to be there, or if it is. It is too subtle to notice, and thus, many who may seek to court her will find that she lacks the attachment their hearts seek.
Positive Personality Traits: She seems sweet in most of her endeavors, and she will speak to all, regardless of race.
Taryil seems to be attentive to the issues and goings on of others, though she definitely doesn't hide her life from them. Her own life is usually not spoken of unless urged to.
Debatable as a positive personality trait. But she generally tries to be polite and mindful of her manners in public places, eating slowly, and properly, even when hungry.
Negative Personality Traits: Her sweetness is often a thin overcast to an overwhelming deceit. If you offer her a drink for free, she will take three instead.
Despite her politeness, she has a tendency to eavesdrop, and butt-in on conversations that she wasn't involved in.
Misc. Quirks: -She can't stand the sight of blood, this induces a fainting reaction. It's not that it horrifies her, the smell does not bother her, but rather just seeing it causes some trigger to cause her to faint. (I should note, that I do not OOCly have a problem with blood or violent, grim, and gory Roleplay. This is just a quirk, and not a way for me to avoid those kind of situations!)
- She likes sunlight, and gardens. I mention this as a 'quirk' because most seem to think this is an unusual affection for a Teir'dal to have.
-She's not too fond of sailing, despite her family being absolutely enthralled with the ocean, and Prexus. Interests: Likes: Pleasant conversation, Music, Bright colors, and -Fae/Arasai- for whatever reason. Velvet, and jewelry. Culture, and learning.
Dislikes: Blood, Necromancers, and the smell of wet dog. Most Ratonga. Crude, uneducated people. Not Naive people, but those who don't see the benefit of it, Naivety is something else entirely in her mind. Generally something to be exploited.
Favorite Foods: Chocolate Cake, Salad, Parfait, Ice cubes. Favorite Drinks: Rice Wine, Fresh Fruit Wine, Iced Tea Favorite Colors: Purple, Black, Bright Green
Hobbies: Reading old histories, Scribing, Jewelry, listening.. Details: Played by What Famous Person: Perhaps a younger version of Helena Bonham Carter (Mrs.Lovett in Sweeny Todd)
Theme Songs: Haven't decided yet.
History: What I have of it is currently short, so I won't share yet. If you want to know what I have, you'll have to wrangle it from Taryil.

Taryil? You mean the Teir with the books? Yes, I've seen her. I even spoke with her on one occasion. I cannot say that I know much about her, but I have listened to her conversations within the Raven. I must say that she is admirable in her modesty. Unlike so many who frequent the inn, she does not waste her time with useless flirtations, nor does she flash her wares for all to see.
I sometimes think that she is lonely. She seems to make friends easily enough, and her conversations are always interesting, whether they be debates or merely happenstantial gossip. Every night, I see her at the Raven though, and I wonder what her reasons are for returning each day? Whatever her reasons, I think I am glad she is there. She lends the inn a sort of down-to-earth quality that I admire in people.
Were all possessing that combination of realism and optimism in their daily lives, this world would be a much better place.

Either this young Teir'Dal (she appears young, but who can say with Teir'Dal?) is genuinely fascinated by me, or, more likely, she possesses the most cunning of all social skills: the ability to make others feel fascinating. She has been in the Raven often since my return, and each time she has greeted me with exquisite courtesy, and proceeded to question me about the news of my life in a way that is too harmlessly superficial to be an interrogation, but too persistent to be a perfunctory show of courtesy.
It may be possible that she is simply fascinated by the subject of marriage in general, as it is the central theme of my recent life, and an interesting subject to be sure. And yet there seems to be more to it than that. One day I invited her to join me at my table and she spent at least an hour sitting with me while we both attended to our work - I my sewing and she her scribing - as though we were lifelong friends too comfortable to require direct conversation.
I'm not accustomed to someone taking such a warm and superficial interest in me, particularly a Teir'Dal, and yet at times I find myself no longer asking why it is she is friendly to me, and simply accepting it. That in and of itself is a remarkable achievement on her part.
If there was a better way to go then it would find me... I can't help it; the road just rolls out behind me. Be kind to me, or treat me mean... I'll make the most of it; I'm an extraordinary machine. ((Played by Mishell - More about Caryl))

Odd creature. She has an insatiable curiousity, and is quite locquacious when she chooses. I think she enjoys baiting people, attempting to enter a battle of wits, or to "out-evil" them. In many ways I find her comparable to a rebellious, human girl.
She does have a passion for reading, and I admire that.
This one surprised me recently, giving me a chocolate. At first I thought it was some sort of peace offering, but I soon realized she may have an interest in me.
Flattering as it may be, I can't help but wonder how sincere she is.
Odd creature.

I cannot for the life of me figure out whether this one is flighty, or just plain wicked. One moment desirous, the next aloof, as if she has never met you before. The hue of her smooth skin, the easy kicking up and crossing of her booted feet, then a sudden intake of breath as if she possesses shyness. I think her mostly a social chameleon, taking on the characteristics of those she comes into proximity with. There is more...oh so much more, that I wish to find out about her, but how to get at it?

How can I not like a woman who quite casually and deliberately opened her robe to give me a better view of her cleavage? But in all seriousness, I am interested to know more about this young woman, who seems to be of a scholarly/arcane persuasion and yet does not carry herself in the detached, bodiless way that most mages and scholars do. She touches, examines, tastes, interrogates, and sprawls on everything within her reach. I wouldn't call her -warm- precisely, but she is certainly not cold. I only help that her claims about her arcane powers are true, because if so, she may be able to help me...

She doesn't believe in love.
..Not only does she not believe in love, she believes Erollisi Marr is a twisted, evil woman.
..I had her figured as some typical snooty Shard like Tier'dal girl, you know the ones. Used to fine wine and high living. I am hardly at my best when I met her, considering I had just come off of .. I can't quite remember if she was there when I had fell against the Rime fellow or not, but she certantly had written me off, and rightfully so.
Not sure what she thinks of the kind if person I am now, but anyone that understands the follies of love must clearly be superior then most other people.
People should watch this girl, she's going places. Mostly places above you.

Feh. *a cloudy expression crosses the Kerra's face* Typical Nerian princess. I've seen her kind before and had to cater to them on bended knee. If this one thinks that's going to happen again then she's got another thing or three coming.
Just showed up here a couple days back and seems like she's been living in the main room at the Raven ever since. Wouldn't mind much if she'd just crawl back under whatever rock she came out from. *he grumbles*
She's loud, opinionated, condescending, rude and dismissive but apparently only to me and has no interest whatsoever.
*he smirks and speaks with just enough sarcasm that its hard to tell if he's joking* I think I'm in love.

Who? ...Ah yes. She's the one who asked for a kiss under the mistletoe. I didn't even know her name. Of course, I didn't kiss her! I would categorize her as "fangirl". -the young elf smirks-

Taryil is a very interesting Teir'Dal. A scribe, and someone rather sedate given the lustful goings on among other members of her family. I wonder if this is repression as rebellion, or if this is simply how she really is. Working on a book I will be curious to see at some point.
The light masks as much as it reveals. Only in the solemn moments of the night can other worlds be seen shining from their high places in the sky.
