History:

Salu was born in the Islands of Mara, his history here has been lost to the annals of time and memory. He speaks little of his life on the island, and makes no mention of his parents, family or loved ones outside of longtime friend and surrogate sister Komayo Mai. At some point he made the move to the City of Freeport, and gained a job with the original Five Points Trading Company. While in his tenure, the Company fell to the hands of a villainous and sinister Iksar brood known as the Shadow of Fear, and lost his right arm from the elbow down to an Iksar’s jaws. Having lost his job he quickly joined the Freeport Militia and worked with them for four years, gaining many honors and titles in the service of the Overlord. Along the way he picked up a young Koada’Dal named Aladastre, a renegade fleeing Qeynos, and accepting her into his house to teach her the arts of the geisha. After years of dedicated service to the military and his city, Salu was retired due to pay cuts and regulations within the acting militia. He has restarted his lost Company in the hopes to raise its glory and honor for the grave it was untimely buried in.

One of the few remaining people that I both genuinely like and enjoy spending time with. I was skeptical at first, I admit, because of his easy going demeanour. I suppose I assumed he would be a flake, and that when his feet hit the fire, he might not take hold of responsibility and come through, but I have been proved otherwise. He is a genuinely decent man, undeniably cordial and fairly diplomatic, but equally capable of laying down a firm hand where it is needed, and keeping things in line. I think he simply prefers not to have to. Which I can understand.

A good drinking partner, and though I do enjoy my solitude, I appreciate him taking me away from it now and then and getting a glimpse of things beyond it.
