History: Ayalin was a simple seamstress in Longshadow Alley until one of the customers accused her of using the wrong color thread on his shirt for the top-stitching. He began yelling and berating her and suddenly he lay on the floor, unconscious. The owner of the shop chased her out, accusing her of assault and possible murder. Since then she has been avoiding the authorities and trying to control her sudden 'ability' which seems to flare up at inopportune moments. For some time, she was dreadfully afraid she would be arrested.

She came to the Raven Mythic and eventually was recognized by those who knew her before the shattering.

Ayalin at first remembered nothing of her past. Her first memories were of wondering the broken landscape after the shattering. She had taken the name Ayalin and managed to become an apprentice in Freeport to a tailor where she managed to make a living.

Those who remember Danikar's wives saw a marked resemblance in Ayalin to the lovely Vaylinia. She found that not only was she married to Danikar, but had been expecting twins when she disappeared during the shattering.

Overwhelmed by a desire to discover what happened to her sons, Ayalin took a potion designed to restore that part of her memory. What she found out has brought her to the point of despair. She saw the deaths of her beloved sister, Sularia and her twin sons. Remembering the past seemed to only deepen the chasm between her and Danikar and to haunt her dreams with terrible visions of the disaster. She and Danikar went their separate ways.

Since that time, she has taken a chance to have another child. By drinking dragon's blood to boost her fertility, she has been able to conceive. She continues to hone her skill as a coercer and attempt to carve a life for herself.

The rediscovery of Neriak brought a pleasant surprise for the coercer. Her beloved sister, Sularia had somehow managed to survive there and they were reunited.

Ayalin has been working for the Arcane Scientists, overseeing mental experiments.

*leans back and sips his whiskey.

A sweet woman. She seems to enjoy good company and hot cocoa for some reason. *grins

I wish her and her friend well. They seem to need each other in some way or another.

Ayalin is a different person, and the same. She's prone to flashes of independance that vanish out from under her, and what she says during them is not always what she means after. It's cost her, and cost her former husband Danikar.

She is a very good person, kind, loving, passionate. The worst that can be said about her is this, though: She is not as submissive as she wishes she was, not as independant as she needs to be. The conflit comes because she can't accept these two sides of herself, and make peace with them.

As character flaws go, it's a pretty damn minor thing. It will drive men crazy from now until her dying day, but if the worst you can say about someone is that, that's not all that bad. Gods know I have more odious flaws for myself.

But with Ayalin... part of me fears for my old friend that until she unifies these to parts of herself, she will never find true happiness within and without, only temporary respites from her own conflicted personality.

I know it well. Then, as now, Ayalin reminds me of my own conflicts of the soul. They're quite different in nature, but we're both victim to them.

*grins* She is interesting to hunt with...I have never seen anyone so careful as they unleash their arcane powers, in order not to chip the new polish on her nails.

It is easy to see she is related to Avalyssa also, for they share many mannerisms and turns of phrase. There are some gnomes who postulate that all we are and will be is determined by our family tree, and not the world in which we are raised. Perhaps there is something to that.

She is also quite the seamstress. Velshorn came by the apartment recently wearing an outfit she had made, and it managed to make even him look cultured and refined *chuckles*

She had a bad turn with that fellow she was seeing, I hope that things go better for her. I certainly would not hesitate to help if she needed it, after all, she's almost like family *smiles*

He glances over at the woman sleeping in his bed and picks up his journal Beauty, Grace and.. belive it or not.. innocence. She still blushes when i call to her, her face looking as if she wants to hide from embaressment... still she crawls into my arms eagerly.

Her personality seems something of a mystery and i can never quiet seem to figure it out. I know she carries a man's child at the moment, and i have offered to help her with that in any way she needs. I mean.. Surely an infant can't be more difficult then a pre-teen free spirit monk right? ... right?

Damn it Oshkay, where are you now...

One of the few people I honestly consider a friend. Kind, sweet, elegant, and a wicked mischievous streak in her. And when pissed... oh, I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that! *smirks at the thought of when she's seen Aya pissed at other people* Somehow I just know I can be open with her.

Since moving to Kelethin we haven't seen each other much. I'll have to visit Freeport when I can, I miss her.

Elegance dripping off every perfectly-shaped finger of this one. She's one of those people so well posed, so well dressed, so lovely that you'd hate her if she wasn't so damned polite and courteous, even to those she doesn't know. Maybe the rest of us girls get lucky somewhere and she has a bad habit of disorganization - something, anything.

She seemed perfectly amiable. She happened to sit at the bar with me and was the only person who seemed inclined to engage me in conversation. Conversation is one of my favorite pastimes, so I was happy to keep her company while she had her drinks, to discuss jewelry and interior design, and all around have what I thought was a perfectly innocent, pleasant evening.

Then she walked out and the next thing I knew, Euryale was handing me the bill. I had not brought coin with me, and had therefore gone to great trouble to (so I thought) not incur any charges. If not for the generosity of a random stranger, I would either be in jail right now or would owe Euryale an undisclosed future favor. I'd likely have chosen jail.

Warning to all who visit the Raven-Mythic: apparently local custom dictates that you are required to pay for the drinks of anyone in possession of a womb, if you so much as converse with her. Avoid conversing with women in this tavern at all costs.

It would have been nice if she had warned me, since I told her I was from out of town. But it wasn't her fault. At least, I don't -think- she did it deliberately. I may never know, as I won't be going back.

Stupid Dark Elf. She takes umbrage because I say truths that everyone knows and would admit to themselves if they were truly honest. Well, I say if the insult fits, wear it. Own it. Whatever. But don't pretend you're somehow different.

She irritates easily. She thinks she's going to take my wings. She's just another haughty 'Dal who think they know everything about everyone. Ohhh, don't talk bad about Dark Elves. Oooh! Did I mention she irritates easily? I love that. Or hate that, in a good way. I can't wait to spend more time watching her get angry with me. I almost have to join the Sigils now, just because of her.

After all, if I'm one of the Sigils of Norrath, she won't be able to hurt me.

And she'll hate that.
