And likely a LOT more...these are the names she can keep up with. There are neices, nephews and yes, even grandchildren, but the list is long enough.

Favorite Foods: Almost anything put in front of her

Weapons of Choice: The hammer, Immortality's Weight.
Special Abilities: Has a touch that is strangely warm, soothing and restorative. Her healing comes in the form of a red-gold fire that covers her hands, which also flickers in her eyes when she's angry. Nothing else seems to have come from that yet.
Physical Features: Little Chey is a small young woman, fairly unassuming, nicely dressed but not overly so. She's just...a girl. Where there used to be a happy, spunky, vibrant girl, life experiences have turned her inwards. She doesn't trust as easily as she used to, and she hates far easier than she used to. A smile is far more rare on her face than it once was. Some would say she's just growing up. Others would say she's been deeply damaged by hardship.

Positive Personality Traits: Unfailingly loyal, deeply devoted to family, gentle, eager to help.
Negative Personality Traits: Over-sensitive, easily depressed, reclusive of late
Misc. Quirks: Cheyla is one of those girls that make you wonder why they're still in Freeport, let alone married to the notorious bastard Nilok Val'Kavek, but every now and then a side of her comes out that shows that she can be just as brutal as any other Freeporter when pushed far enough.

Played By: Winona Ryder

Theme Songs:Into The Fire by Sarah McLachlan

"I will stare at the sun until its light doesn't blind me
I will walk into the fire 'til its heat doesn't burn me
And I will feed the fire"

Going Down in Flames by 3 Doors Down

"Don't tell me what to think
Cause I don't care this time
Don't tell me what you believe
Cause you won't be there
To catch me when I fall
But you'll need me when I'm not here at all"

For a time, Cheyla was someone's pet. The details are a bit vague there for me, but with the passage of time, she's changed. Far as I can tell the pet became and equal, and then she may have moved on. I know now her mate of choice is Nilok, one of the guild Knights of Freeport. He's not much liked, but she loves him. I suppose that's all the matters.

I see her now and again in the Raven, and in Freeport. Silver Circle keeps her very busy, and our acquaintances are brief. She's quite nice, though, and has taken a lot of heat for things she has done, and not done, and in either case, it's been more than she has deserved. She's fought back from that quite well.

Cheyla is like a sister to me. One, that while started out at the bottom of society, mere offspring of a whore, became something miraculous. She's become an intricate part of my life, as much as someone can be as a friend.

I wish her the best, especially with the man that seems to have turned her life around.

A tapestry must unite discordant threads of many colors into a single portrait. If each thread does not work in harmony with the others, the beauty is lost. So each thread is assigned a pigment, a place-- given order. The pigments limit the threads, restrict their use to a certain spot within the whole.

But what does the weaver do with a thread that has no pigment?

Ahh yes...Cheyla. The human wife of a Fallen Teir'dal, possesed of a smugly chubby face and rightous attitude. I suppose she seems to think that bedding a teir'dal raises her stature. Perhaps among her family it does but sadly for her, the days when family lineage and pedigree were important have past. Now it is only faith that will raise someone in my eyes. Faith which she and her mate are sadly lacking. It's a comforting thought to know that she will die well before her husband. Perhaps then he can find his way back to the Father.
If Elizabeth Bennett and Hannibal Lecter had a baby.

A particularly amusing victim. She suffers beautifully.

I don't know much about this lady, 'cept she's just like the others and doesn't approve of stuff I do. Like I'm gonna change for a stranger...

She is an amazingly strong woman, and it may be to my shame that most of what I have seen of her revolves around conflict. Fate or Father's Will keep causing our paths to collide whenever there is turmoil in Freeport. I have seen much of what humans value as compassion under her brash exterior, but I have also seen a coldness and ferocity that would make some of my people flinch. These two aspects can show within moments of one another, and did the night Thule claimed Pallidmortis' soul.

She is loyal to her mate and the House to which she belongs - admirable traits in anyone. She is devout to her chosen deities and I doubt any amount of persuasion will draw her from them, another impressive feat. I have no use for those whose faith is like the seasons. If I -or any other- could sway her loyalty with pretty words, I would doubt the sincerity of her conversion, as the next silver tongue would have her converting again.

The few times she has visited the Soulfire when crisis did not loom, she was bright and cheerful, reminiscent of a hearth fire on a cool evening. Perhaps this is the other aspect of her god showing itself.

I met Cheyla recently and was very impressed by her. She has a confidence about her that I envy.... but then she is beautiful and powerful too.I heard rumours that she used to be much weaker, I think people meant to be nasty saying that... but it actually impressed me more... to make more of yourself than you start with is a difficult thing to do.

(( With SO many apologies to Cheyla!player *laughs* ))Rrrgh.I used to think differently of her. I used to think she was just utterly naive, a nice girl with no backbone and the worst taste in men possible. Now? People like this are the reason people like Lucan get to where they are and get away with what they do without being taken down or killed before they become too powerful. Nice? Well meaning? Willing to risk their own neck? Yeah, sure, as long as it's their own family or personal circle of friends that's in trouble. Anyone else outside of that can just rot. I used to think she was naive. She's not naive. She just doesn't care. What's all the more aggravating is how she can turn around and preach at other people for not giving a crap when her own lot are in need, and not see the utter, utter hypocrisy of it all. I'd like to know where her bleeding heart goes every single night her husband is out doing his 'work'. I guess when he leaves a string of orphans, widows, and shattered lives it's alright, but gods forbid anyone tries to stop him.Of course, none of that's unique. Every place is filled with people like this, and I despise each and every one of them. They might not be the ones causing horror and misery, but they're the ones that sit around and let it happen again and again.

Ahh, Cheyla. My daughter. When we met, she was a lost little girl. Then, she was a slave. Then, she became my daughter through marriage to my son, Nilok. I had my doubts. She was whiny, petulant, and needy. Nilok can be ... dangerous... to someone like that. I was protective of her, to say the least. I do beleive I threatened him a bit on their wedding night. With a smile, of course, as always. He swore to me he would take care of her, cherish her, as he should. And it seems he has, for the most part. She is a sweet girl, and struggling so hard to grow up in a House of Devils. I have high hopes and expectations for her. I know, I am hard on her. I know, that I chastise her harder than I should sometimes. But I am ever so proud of her, more than words can say. She is slowly shedding the weakness of her human-ness and embracing the fire inside. She is my daughter. I am proud to call her thus.Vakarina Val`Kavek

A family member, one who doesn't take family lightly. I saw many things with her, in the beginnings of new memories. She is stubborn. She has many issues. She is family. What more does it matter?

I've been on better terms with this one's husband recently, so perhaps I'm on better terms with her. We've never been terribly bad off, aside from the occasional scuffle I had with Nilok. I don't quite think I've forgiven him yet for attempting to torture me and ruining my favorite suit...Ah, but about Cheyla. Gods know she's got a mouth on her. But she can also be a sweet chickadee, underneath all the sarcasm, biting returns, and wilting glances. I saw her eyes that night she and Nilok won the Night of the Dead costume award. I've been paying close attention ever since. It's my job to be aware. To know things. And I can say this about Cheyla: She's strong, don't you doubt that. Bad things happen to decent people. But so do things just out of their control--right where they could almost reach them; if only they had tried harder... truly knowing they never could.Idly, of course, I wonder how she'd deal with that.

I have meet Cheyla a few times, at fuctions, the Soulfire and heard a lot more. Shes strong, not that obvious strenght that projects on people but that strenght that surprizes you. Like the flexible slim branch will not break where the stiff wood will; and with this there is a sense of peace.I have felt the warmth of home around her, but in that is the hardned determination to protect that home. Her and Nilok seem the complimentry couple, I think she will very good for him.
