Zalatea is a recently graduated student of necromancy. She's gained power and ability very quickly, and has a clear talent for her chosen profession.

Promised at birth, Zalatea was sent early into an arranged marriage at the age of twelve. After her formal marriage, she began a study of the magical arts, and eventually focused on her first subject of interest, Necromancy.

Apprenticed to a powerful necromancer, she dealt with her parents constant disapproval of her chosen path in the most expedient way possible, by killing them. Her mother died quickly. Her father died over the course of a series of painful experiments, and now servers as her animated warrior. One brother is alive, though she claims in her dungeons. Another brother was killed as a gift to Vestris and Vorgoth during her pledging, and a third is elsewhere, status unknown. Her sister roams freely, and they are occasionally seen together.

She was a member of The Sisters of Chaos, recruited there shortly after graduation when a chance meeting lead her to speak with Kinah, the head of the Sisters. Zalatea did not share in the joyous, playful, goings on of her sisters, and though she rose to the rank of Lady within them, she felt she had to move on to an organization that more fit her sensibilities. Though the association of a few allies, she was guided to join Bloodthorn, and is just beginning her tenure there.

Zalatea is not humorless, though she doesn't have much of her own to offer, she does appreciate it. Life, though, she feels must be taken seriously at times. She has recently completed a move from Freeport to Neriak.

The great bane of Zalatea's life is her husband. Though she took revenge upon her family for the arranged marriage she was put into, she cannot seem to escape it. Between his power, and his connections, Zalatea is fearful of attempting to kill her husband, or to seek some sort of legal separation from him. Their relationship is a joyless, loveless one. He husband disdains social gatherings, alcohol, tobacco, or any contact with those below her station. Any any time when Zalatea is out on the streets of Freeport or Neriak on anything but business, her return home is likely to end in an argument with her husband.

I remember reading a story once, of a decadent slave owner who once arranged to have a flogger put in a slave's hand, and a free woman placed on a whipping post. Up until that point, the slave had been quiet, sedate, and obedient... but when finally given a chance to lash someone else, years of repression poured out, and she was so vicious, so cruel so merciless, that the free woman died before anyone could gather themselves up to act.Zalatea, similarly, is just so repressed. Emotions and passions held in check by a cold nature and a socially repressive life. The cracks are forming, and when the damn breaks, I think the dark cruelty just under the surface will come pouring out.I think I have to agree with Pyxie in her assessment of Zalatea... she's is, by far, one of the most evil people I know, if not the most. You can feel it from her, the menace she exudes is powerful beyond easy reckoning. The world, I think, is fortunate she's not yet at the peak of her power. Some day she will be... and that will be a terrible time indeed, if she is set loose to do her will. Nothing constrains her, nothing holds her back. No morality, no taboo, no ethical qualms. She can be happy, she can have friends, but she would not hesitate to sacrifice anything and anyone in the pursuit of her greater power. She is a devout follower of Innoruuk, and I think to a lesser extent, Cazic and the Plaguebringer. She may be a necromancer by profession, but her fanaticism is priestly in power and persistence.
You've got a superiority complex. And you've got an inferiority complex about it. Kudos - Buffy the Vampire Slayerr

Briefly met in the Raven Mythic, Zalatea seems a curious study. Another follower of Innoruuk, we seemed to have a bit in common, especially the longer we conversed. Of course, all good things must come to an end, and I believe I halted what could have been the start of a fair friendship with a misguided suggestion. Ah well... you never can tell. It wouldn't be the first time my big mouth has gotten me into trouble. I do know that I'd love to find out what lies behind those cold, dark eyes. There's a lot she told me, but I have a feeling there is just as much she didn't.

On a scale o' one to ten on the evil scale, she rates six e's. That means she's eeeeeevil evil. Very few folks rate up past a three or four. The scary thing is, she rates for of these by attitude alone and the other two only from what I know of her. I'm pretty sure if I knew more than I did I'd either had to add a few more e's or maybe even reinvent the scale past ten.If she has a weakness, I'd have to say it'd be her gormand's appetite for the corruption of others. Her tendency to get caught up on that may backlash on 'er one day day. But for ol' Innie's sake, ya didn't hear that from me!

Zalatea is - myself, except slightly farther down the line of perversion and true anathema. I'm drawn to her moreso than anyone in my life currently, an unhealthy ill-harbouring sensation that seeps down into the core of what I am. Hold a mirror up to yourself, give it a few years, and do it again, and see who is staring back. That's what I feel with Zalatea. We're indescribably linked, and yet we're totally different. For instance, I'd never have been foolish enough to settle for a shoddy marriage, if rumors are correct. Perhaps I should suggest she return to him in her current form and maul the man to death. I think she'd like that gift, in theory.

Lady Zalatea, what can I say...I love how her mind works. She has power, and wields it like a true master would. On countless times she has opened my eyes to possibilities I did not know existed before. She personally opened the door for me on a mind blowing, eye opening, life altering experience that I will keep and hold close to me. Her knowledge is unmatched. I know that I can also go to her for help and truley will be able to count on it. She is just......amazing! I hope someday, I will be able to help her as much as she has helped and enlightened me.

I am truely not sure what to say about this woman. An erotic mixture of mental strength, power and secrecy. She seems to draw you in and then shut the door all at the same time. So far I like this one, she is bold. Tattoo'ing her will be an honor.

There is one person, and only one, in all of Norrath, who scares the living hell out of me. And I think she knows it, too.I've seen -- no, I've been allowed to see, nothing Zalatea does is by accident and she wanted me to know -- what lurks under that sophisticated, elegant veneer. Exactly what she's capable of doing on a whim, and just how horrifyingly little she feels about it. For her part... She knows far too much about me, about my own mental cogs and gears, about just where to strike to make the entire machine break down in pieces.I've faced savage orcs, starving Gnoll packs, and the twisted horrors of Nektulos Forest, taking everything they could throw at me in stride... But I fear Zalatea.

Oh, well we get along famously. I don't see why everyone is so worried, but maybe the fact we're in similar placing when it comes to the beneath has something to do with how out relations are to one another. We sit and have some of the special reserve, I quite enjoy watching the room with her, or quietly discussing one matter or the next.

There's so much I can learn from her, but all the same I think that I tend to surprise her also. It would be great if she danced, but I doubt that she would find it in her nature? She might be, I really can't say..but her company is always superb, and peeking into the workings of things together between the finest wine ensures that my interest remains palpable.

Actually, I get the feeling she puts the more in tune individuals on guard and what a funny little thing that is to behold. You don't get to know why though, but I'm sure that she does!

How interesting...a woman such as myself who stares into the Void, rather than turn away in fright or disgust. I should like to get to know her better. I do look forward to speaking with her about the hidden things, things which so few would understand or condone. Our eyes, black alike, are indeed windows to our souls I think.

She's ~fascinating~. She's a Lady in the way I wanna be one, with the perfect manners and dress. And she's all Domly too. She's intriguing and nifty to watch and she gets the 'blessing' of having her name remembered because she's so remarkable. I doubt that Wise One would approve of her though. And then there was that night before I had to go rest...

I have discovered that Celanya's girl, Kuska, has taken Zalatea's surname. What this means I am not sure but I have watched over Kuska from a distance for most of her life and she is wild, dangerous and a true loner. To see the girl bonding to someone like Zalatea is frightening.

Zalatea comes across as well mannered in public, quirky but well versed in etiquette, but I can smell something very bad about her. I would not at all be surprised to discover that she has done terrible, terrible things, that she enjoyed it and plans to do more and worse.

Hmm, Zalatea. I like her, but honestly I more or less avoided her for some time, worried we wouldn't really get along so well when things got real. I have my moments, but I've no reputation or self-image of myself as a menace, or a force of evil...and honestly, I tend to irk those who are extreme - in any direction. Particularly the extremely faithful.

She seems a dangerous woman to irk.

Instead, a chance dare in a game seemed to intrigue her, and now that I've gotten to know her a little more, our times together have gotten more interesting. She can be a lot of fun, as long as you respect her sense of formality.

And she's spitefully competitive with Duvessa. That's both insane and endearing.

Lady Mistress Zalatea?

Oh... We are... How to put it ... kindred in ways that will be left unmentioned and is masterful in ways of pain. I like her, in all truth and I feel if given enough time I could learn so much from Lady Mistress and even more about myself in stride. Most see me as a weak underling of the pathetic Queen of Neriak, yet she looks past that and say my will and my determination to succeed and to fight. And she can tell my resolve to prove myself to others that I’m not some ‘flighty little pest’ like my sister and the most of the Winged ones out there …
… though exquisite pain, comes sublime pleasure …

"Has taken an unusual expressional interest in myself or the talents about me. She has details on my family history to which I am eager to learn more of. I have seen the device of my supposed-to-be ancestors, I am still unfamilar with it. As profession goes, the path of a Necromancer is a fairly lonesome one. This I can see in her, above all else. Holds a fascinated interest in the Iksar and the Fear or our Lord. Unfortunately I feel this may be a feigned interest, or at least one without focus. More study is required. Before I am able to consider her someone I can associate with in regards to common habits and mannerisms."

The Lady both terrifies me, yet calls to me. She hath since I first met her. Though I am unused to feeling this way towards any female. I have watched her in the Raven as well as the time she was at the Ossuary ... she truly is as ... interesting as my Lady Anastasya.

Lady D'Avalos is a very... arresting woman, I suppose would be the best word. Both handsome - in a rather morbid way - and with a subtle air of command. She also smells faintly of the grave. The picture is most complete when she is seated beside Alarice Grayson, for the two bring one another's qualities into sharp relief. For whatever reason, Lady D'Avalos seems to have taken an interest in me. I suspect that she will soon discover the limits of my power and use, and will discard me, but perhaps I might learn something in the meantime. If nothing else, I have to raise a glass to anyone with the temerity to refer to Lady Duvessa El'Lar as what she did while sitting in her inn.
If there was a better way to go then it would find me... I can't help it; the road just rolls out behind me.
Be kind to me, or treat me mean... I'll make the most of it; I'm an extraordinary machine.

A bit "awe"ful, in the old meaning of the word. Made me feel I had to be on my best manners. Interesting what Mahamari said about her being able to tell if she was there even if she were invisible. Wouldn't want to get on her wrong side.

This woman is very strange and somewhat darker then most humans I've known...
I requested aid for her involving a slight problem I had. Needless to say, I did enjoy the little treatment she gave me.
And then their was a little mishap I had. It seems I owe her some favors...

Maybe I should bother her again sometime...

My Lady Zalatea. She has taught be what it is I may become. I am afraid to embrace the gift I have been bestowed. But wilth her guidance and strict hand, I may be able to obtain a sense of control over the mysterious powers I wield. She is my Lady whom I would truly give everything too if she asks. I owe her much for her guidance so far. I cannot await what she will show me next.

I hate this woman.

Shes perfect. Innoruuk has his ways of making my life as if I were walking throught the plane of Tranqulity ~again~, and this woman certantly impersonafies that feeling. Not in that she is Tranquil, but that she infurates me so.

The "Drow" Tier'dal of the time before the Crusades had an air of superiority about them, for no reason at all. Most of these girls went about, falling in love with everything that came about them. Easily manipulated, disraceful beings. Zalatea has that same air about them, short of the short commings. I believe that she may be the real thing, short of being Tier'dal herself.

To think that their is a possibility that she may be more favored in the eyes of Innoruuk then myself is infurating.

Getting her away from the Mythic where she must hide her true self behind a mask would be quite interesting.

The fact that I can only stand back and watch as she does his will is..

Keh. She puts me in a very ackward position.

This woman makes me wary, though she was nothing if not polite. I am not certain what to make of her, really. Still, I feel it would not do to turn one's back on her. It would not be safe at all.

Eh. That's that seriously scary human. She healed me. An' I owe her thanks. Despite the fact, I think she may have enjoyed listening to my bones being forced to snap back into place and watching me grimace and groan. Nifty and painful trick.
There's this love that is burning
