Zeverai
Full Name: Zeverai El'Lar - Though very few and far between know her surname.
Full Ceremonial Title: Lady Occultist Zeverai El'Lar of the Dismal Rage
Nicknames: Zev; Zevvy; Rai; Red
Date of Birth: 3752
Age: 25
Race: Half-Elf
Gender: Female
Hair: Dark crimson Red
Skin: The palest ivory, an almost bone-white coloring
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 105 pounds
Place of residence: North Freeport, just below the Soulfire.
Place of Birth: The Enchanted Lands, near Fae Island.
Known Relatives:
---Blood Relatives:
  • Maeva, her fraternal twin sister who currently resides in Qeynos as a Knight of the Queen, seperated at an extremely young age by raiding forces within the Commonlands. She knows nothing of her twin sister, nor her sister of her. Both parents are deceased.
  • Dawid Albinus, though the connection is established, the two have yet to really devour books of his family's history to find the hidden link.
  • Duvessa El'Lar - mate, sister, family, all of the above? Through an event much shrouded in mystery and lost gossip, it is said that Duvessa restored Zeverai to a mortal life, through means of her own flesh and blood. While this makes them almost exact parallels, it only spurred their deepening bond. No one really knows, or understand, how deep that bond really lies.
---Non-Blood Relatives:She has one adopted daughter, Allandia (nicknamed Allie), whom is presumed dead. She also values kinship with a brother-in-arms named Sarcus, whom mysteriously disappeared after a strange occurance at the Haze several years ago.
Occupation: Inquisitor, Aspiring Brigand, and Provisioner.
Guild: Eternal Odessey
Religion/Philosophy: Zeverai fervently worships Rallos Zek, believing that the universe was created in conflict and thus it will end, with either oneself victorious or dead. She admires the strength, courage, and determination used to fuel victory over oneself and one's enemies that Rallos Zek preaches of, believing in the survival of the strong and death to the weak without mercy or remorse. As any true believer of Rallos would follow, Zeverai that enlightenment is only gained at the victory over one's enemies, gaining strength and knowledge through those they have conquored and overcome. Despite her brutal belief system, she is not without a strict sense of morality and takes to fighting those only that would die a deserved honorable death on the field. She outright refuses to participate in certain killings, since she does not consider herself uncivilized and/or amoral. (i.e killing children, animals, or innocents in mass slaughter). Karma is also another core belief, and so she belives those that deserve punishment will be dealt with in time - in one form or another. Zeverai also holds true to all her alliances, whether they be past or present. She is still a firm supporter of the Lady Shadow, despite her recent break from Bloodthorn.

Enemies: Draethos, an astral demon with demi-god like powers. She's angered him in the past, with devestating effects. Given the nature of her advesary, it is safe to claim she doesn't know the true extent of how his wrath has twisted her into the dark being she is today. Due to past alliances to whom she is still devoutly loyal to, any Windrunner bearing colors of their calling is immediately listed as an enemy. Special figures of such faction are: Taureth, Tamur, and Valadorn.

Likes: Religious debates, transcribing and translating ancient literature, cooking, politics, social gatherings.
Favorite Foods: Braised Steak, lentil soup, whipped cream and strawberries.
Favorite Drinks: Coffee, tea, whiskey.
Favorite Colors: Red, black, grey.
Weapons of Choice: Small compact maces, wands, or axes. Zeverai is fragile looking and does not posess a lot of physical strength, so she prefers weapons she can easily handle versus something that would make her clumsy. She would rather sacrifice the lethal effect of a weapon than precision and accuracy.
Hobbies: Cooking, reading, studying various languages and lost mythology, transcribing old pieces of literature about Norrath before the Shattering.
Physical Features: Zeverai is extremely petite for her race, with a willowy statuesque resembling that of a dancer. Her hair is her most startling feature beside her eyes, a dark crimson red of unusual length, neatly kept up in a tight military-fashioned braid down the center of her back. She is extremely pale with an almost unnatural aura to her skin, the only coloring found in light purple circles under her eyes, due to past experimentations, giving her an untangible trademark that is hard to decifer but eeriely uncomfortable on one's instinct: this little priestess is far from what her outward appearance claims. Her only apparrel seems to blend between an extremely well-tended dark plate armor suit or a bold red dress with white trimming. She is wintry and distant to most of her acquaintances. Still, as hardened as time as made her, she holds a strangely innocent quality to her features. Perhaps she's simply a good actress.

Special Abilities: Strongly empathic, using the emotions she senses off of her paitent's body to quicken and empower her healing talent. On very rare occasions, Zeverai has been known to absorb tell-tale traces of memories or snippets of the person's past. She has to physically touch someone in order for this to happen, however.
Positive Personality Traits: Loyal, Efficient, Determined, Stragetic.
Negative Personality Traits: Wintry, Distant, Quiet, Extremey Introverted, Low self-esteem and self-worth.

Brief Backstory Summary: Zeverai was one of a fraternal set of twins to the son of a cheiftan within the nomadic tribes of the Commonlands, though her actual birthplace was in the rivered valleys near Fae Island in the Enchanted Lands. It is said that as Zeverai was born, a fairy blessed her with the gift of healing and empathy as she saw all that the child would befall in her lifetime. The credit for the rumored blessing was given due to the radical difference in her appearance than that of the normal hereditary traits shared between the others of the tribe. In their eyes, she was like an exotic flower amongst a mixture of weeds.

Her mother was a kind woman, an ex-slave and prostitute of the Jade Tiger, of whom the elder chieftan did not approve of willingly at first. Eventually, though, her kindness overwon his skeptic ways. As their tribe was entirely dependant on the coin of traveling adventurers, Zeverai saw many lands in the first years of her childhood.

As was common occurance in the dry sands surrounding Freeport, a raid ripped through the tribe one slumberous afternoon, profitting off selling the women, capturing the men, and gutting their coin pockets. Maeva was smuggled to Qeynos, where she aspired to be a Knight of the Queen, while Zeverai was bought at a high price for her good looks and taught to be a high-priced escort for many of Freeport's more entitled gentleman. Eventually, her lucrative owner was mysteriously killed, a murder that was never solved, and as Zeverai was handed between one set of Masters and another, she fastidiously gave all her willpower and strength into her studies at the Temple of War, an aim which eventually earned her the freedom from her last Master, Traekor of Stonestair Byway.

Since then, Zeverai has been through more trials in life than many three times her age. The rest of her past has dissolved into mystery, though it is rumored she was once almost put to trial and beheaded in West Freeport by order of Lucan D'Lere for a tell-tale rumor of being an unsanctioned priest, though the rumors behind the labeling has fallen completely into dissolved rumors of nonsense.

After the storm of her controversial trial, Zeverai escaped the limelight by throwing herself into a long seasoned pilgrimage overseas and in territory unknown, reaching the pennacle of her journey with an unexpected suprise. It is this single event that has had far reaching effects, all throughout Norrath and for those that knew her. Memories have been erased and interchanged with new ones, and the Zeverai of old was no more. Since this mysterious event, Zeverai has returned into the public scrunity of Lucan and Freeport, finally craving another form of satisfaction than through the art of battle, though there is definately something odd lurking in this one's eye.

hmmm and interesting one to say the least somethign who actually has their eyes open enoguh to see throguh the pain walls we all build around ourselves. first person i have spoke to in length for so many years, she reminds me much of figures long devoured by the cruel maelstrom of time in my cold void of a past. i just hope she finds a path to set on that would make her whole and complete, not as an object but one of a person...why do i dwell on these thoughts is way beyond my comprehension. i would like to talk to this person at length some more she impressed me with her determination lets see what else i shall discover....

I see great things for this woman. She has become...well I'd like to call her a friend. I look forward very much to work with her in The Siren. A caring heart beats beneath her chest and I know that I could count on her in even the darkest of times.

An interesting woman. A freed slave, and an ex dancer. Quite a combination. She seemed shocked when i spoke of what i am, but never the less, she has shown me friendship and respect. I honestly dont know what to make of her. But i intend to find out.

-shifts uncomfortably- I've never had someone see right through me so easily, or well...never really...It's almost as if she knows what I'm going to say -lofts a brow- even before I do. Tilts his head slightly It's as if she looks right through my soul and reads all my thoughts and secrets shudders spooky. smirks I'll have to watch my tongue around her.

Im interested in this woman, we spent some time talking recently. A priestess of Zek as my sister once was when she could for a time not concentrate on battle. I enjoyed her company as I hope to again in the future, and have prompted her to talk to my sister as they will no doubt have much in common.

I've seen Zev lately in th' Raven, but ain't been sure what t' say t' 'er. I 'ave a special fondness fer 'er...but that be 'tween th' two o' us. I've thought t' talk t' 'er, but ain't sure if'n she'd welcome it. Much time 'as passed since she an' I spent time t'gether, and many things 'ave changed, in both our lives. She's grown a lot, is th' only thing I be certain of. Stronger, prouder, less afraid. But then, I 'ope so 'ave I.

I remember when I first met this woman, I was unfocused one of the few times I was distracted enough to have my senses escape me. and I bumped into her, a life changing moment, in apology I offered to buy her a drink, as we talked I found me self with that warm floating feeling as if some silent force turned on a lever in my heart, such a natural feeling I treasured, a feeling I have not had ever I can safely say. The more we spoke even if she was distant in mind the more I felt, the greater this feeling.

I hold respect for her and so much more.

In the past the fear of sorrow has kept me speaking up to share my feelings to allow another to get close. But I wont let that happen with zeverai. I care for her to an extent I never outstretched to anyone. It scares me slightly but I think it excites me more. I hope she knows the depth of my feelings. She will always have these rangers watchful eyes as long as she wishes it. Its good to have a companion such as her.

Zeverai.. An intresting woman, She seems kind and helpful, though very sad sometimes. I imagine, like most of us, her past has not been kind to her. I do wish her luck in reconsiling it.

Gravity is an interesting thing. It pulls down, but away at the same time. Two celestial bodies are going their own way, but also pulled towards each other. If they are moving fast enough on their own, the attraction between them pulls them together, and yet their own acceleration causes them to miss each other, to pull apart, until gravity causes them to come back together. Too much speed, and the two bodies fly apart, the gravity can not hold them. Too little speed, and the bodies fall together. Just the right combination of individual velocities, of mass, and attraction cause the two bodies to orbit one another. Never parting, never closing.Perhaps this is a slightly more lofty, and certainly more romantic, vision of my relationship with Zeverai that I intend it to sound, but it does come to mind. We are in the orbit of one another. We're never that far apart, and yet never as close as we could be if things were given just a little nudge.I think back to Nauria and her lover Xyrra. Xyrra always used to say that Nauria could shoot 'arrows of perception' right into her heart. Observations that were so accurate, so inescapably right that there was no avoiding the truth of them. Perhaps I worry that too much exposure to Zeverai will have more of her arrows of perception hitting me than I can take. Such is my compliment to her ability to see clearly to the truth of a thing.

Very intresting woman. Full of barbs and thorns which, in my opinion, add more to her beauty and charm then take away from it. A rose would not be so precious if you didn't not have to shed blood to pick one. Still. As fun as trading barbs may be, she's still a mutt. One that i look forward to sparing with again.

She aided me in a time that I needed a..friend. I remember her from long long ago. A time when we were both different people. A time when we were friends. Perhaps we could salvage what was lost or at least form an alliance. Goddess knows I need a few of those. Hmm however...its too dangerous to trust people these days. Alas..only time will tell.

Damn it. Vithing woman. First she wakes me with her loud entrance in the middle of the night, then moves that.. mmm.. disgusting body in just the right ways... A moment of weakness, nothing more. I could not resist, and before i knew it i was inside her. But now that itch is gone and i will not touch her again. I will not soil myself with that half breed again.i will not...i will ... not...

The writing in this journal seems calm and controlled, almost to the point of looking more like it came from a printing press then a quill. Only small blots of ink, as if the quill stayed still for a moment, pressing down hard into the page to the point that it almost snapped in the tight grip give away that this was indeed writen by hand. A fitting woman. She can force me to lose the control i hold onto so tightly. A blessing? A curse? I have yet to decide. So far though, our interaction has met with intense and spectacular results. Let us see if she can make me lose such control again.

There is compassion in her, behind the facade of dispassion, and fragility in her ferocity. When I have had the honor of working with her, her faith and strength have astonished me. While we are not devoted to the same deity, I am glad our paths have crossed at this time. Her dedication to her god reinforces my own and her few words of kindness and sympathy regarding my "illness" were more help than a dozen offered swords. It is comforting to know one is not alone in resolute devotion to one's calling.

I've never seen one be so fearful, and yet so determined at the same time. Although it was easy to see that she was less than happy to be there, in Carcosa, and more than a little scared, she kept it together. She didn't freak out. And she walked into battle as if it were no big deal. I look up to her tactics, and hope that I can call her friend... and get to know her better, outside of the ordeal we experienced together.

~as Bellia~She confuses and angers me. She told me I could be the best mother by staying away from my daughter. How dare she tell me that after I have not seen my child for months? I do not know for certain what is going on, but I do know that she is arrogant and demanding.~as Hunger written shakily~A pawn who thinks herself greater than the players. If she understood the depths of the game, no doubt she would not hesitate in her compliance with my demands and requests. As for her pitiful attempts to gather information about Bellia, she will never realize what a monster Bellia is and has been. No one will, and it is the perfect time to make Bellia suffer for the affronts given to me and to those who sent me to punish her. Pathetic mortals...always thinking they know better. The game we play is time and no mere mortal can ever hope to overcome that.

At first glance bellicose and belligerent for no other reason than it satisfies her urges; like the child who knocks down the block cities other children have built: Hungry for some means of authority and power over others. At second glance, much the same but with a spark of humanity, sorrow, and something intangible in the mix.Do remember, though, that it takes a great man to build a bridge; but any fool can knock one down.
Father Flynn, 'I can fight you.'
Sister Aloysius, 'You will loose.'
Flynn, 'Where is your compassion?'
Aloysius, 'Nowhere you can find it.'

I have admired her from afar since the day I first met her in the Blood Haze; though at the time I received the feeling that she thought of me as, well, lesser. Truly, a misconception. At first, through our work, she and I have became friends, and perhaps then some. How our paths will follow one another, I do not know, but I plan on finding out. If anything, I feel the need and want to offer her anything I can that may soothe her troubled soul, even just a small bit.Though whenever she and I make plans to simply spend time with one another, it seems she is constantly sought after. How very annoying.

My mother. My gloriously powerful, mean, abusive, scheming, manipulative, mother. She's perfect. Hard as a rock, smooth as one that's been worn by a river, polished to a shin, a precious jewel, beautiful, deadly, with sharp edges and perfect planes. She give me birth, gave me an education, and when I earned it, gave me a home. In return, I will serve the interests of her and our house well. It's a deal we're both pleased with, and I think we're both pleased with the results.

I can't think of any sin greater than letting her or my father down. Forget about love, they have invested in me. And that's a real obligation to pay off. They put money into my education, into keeping me safe, and they placed in me some of their schemes for the future. Has anyone invested in you like that? If that's not a definition of a god, I don't know what is. So what devotion I have goes there.

If she doesn't fail me, I won't fail her. I am so very, utterly, completely, proud of my mother.

Sometimes in the quiet I think of those who have moved on to better things--or maybe I think them better as they remain in the quiet where I do not. Zeverai was always one of those that I found to be friendly--as a friend. In a world where so many are backstabbing and lie...even in your own family, true friendship should always be valued.

I do miss her.
