Anya's Randoms

Post by Anyastasia » 03/01/12

Yes, it's going to be very random. My thoughts always flitter back and forth over the strangest things.

Your golden tower
it shines too bright
so abnormal with its gleam
caught in the sunlight.
Do you patch the cracks
with molten gold
so no one can see
how it's growing old?
Just fill in the seams
until it's defiled and droops
the sides melt and crease
the folds lie loose
No longer an object
of beauty and delight
it's pity we feel
scorn and spite
How you've weakened
your tower now tainted
soon it will crumple
from the layers you've painted
all to hide the core beneath
that you're too scared to show
no one could see in
no one was allowed to know
there was a human inside
she was cowering in fear
instead you showed gleaming walls
to hide yourself in here.
What will you do
when you're finally revealed?
Is it worth hiding?
Why do you keep concealed?
You have faults, you have strengths
there's more to you to see
stop hiding in your tower
so you can finally be free.

Sweet caress of your hand,
how it startles the senses.
My body yields to yours,
I surrender my defenses.
A simple play of the lips
and I'm drugged on your taste.
I crave what you give me,
I yearn for your embrace.
Falling into love with you,
how can I pull away?
Losing control of my heart
more and more each day.

The tender thrust of silver in the night
illuminating the path of heaven by starlight
into the tender clasp of moon's embrace
to kiss upon the cheek of her adoring face.
Will you dance with me along the glitter
to clasp the sweet moon so tender?
Will you love me, moon, until the sun's gone?
Will your love be as fickle as the pinkened dawn?

Drawn down-
a gossamer curtain-
it's sticky and delicate-
the weaver is never satisfied-
she seems uncertain-
a stitch here and there-
fine silk befitting a nervous bride-
one customer examines-
tears it to tiny bits-
then cries-
pay the price and die-

When the sun rises,
don't forget-
Wash your face and brush your teeth
and comb your hair and time to eat.
Don't forget-
close your eyes against the daylight,
keep your mind blocked
against lies.
They'll steal secrets from your mind
to flaunt about.
Don't forget-
take your joy from your laugh
take the mirth from your smile and remember.
You won't realize you are,
not at first,
not for a while.
Don't forget.

Thanks :) I have a huge fear of spiders and I thought seeing them in a different light my help my phobia. Didn't so much, but I kept the poem anyway.

My attempt at haiku:

Shower falling light
cool dew drops on my fingers
scatter on the ground

Hear the pummeling
wet streaks on the window glass
hazy white imprint

sticky yellow leaf
brown and red and wet
coloring a dying ground

-----------------------

Twinkle in the sky
shine like a diamond so bright
in vivid vast blue

----------------------

Moving, itching fingers dance
strum on the guitar
play a lonely song

noisy, rowdy crowd
do they hear the notes
dulcet melody ignored
