Owned by Zander Silvae, The Haze is known to be a place for those aligned with the Abyssal Empire. It's also often a meeting of the heads of business, the shadowy underworld of crime and all those who work between those organizations. This is the place to be if you've already made it, or you're willing to risk yourself to make it. The Haze is, to those who don't know better, an in and upscale tavern sort of place. Reservations are made with the tavern keep, made in coin for the common patron, or with marks for those seeking the rooms that serve as safe havens. The property is surrounded by a tall wall with a single gate leading in, this being open when the public is welcome and kept guarded when a private soiree is being hosted.
There are no wards, such as the ones The Raven is known for. The Haze is a bit more on the darker side, and there is some risk taken just in stepping into the lounge. That said, Zander has been known to retain staff to deal with actions that would ruin the enjoyment of his guests. The Haze has a known code of not allowing violence on the premise.
The design of The Haze is somewhat rough, not what one may have expected, but also designed for comfort. The main room is set with options for semi-private seating or for those who wish to have an open view to the rest of the room. The lighting is kept low, mostly candle light or arcane globes.
A large fireplace is set into a seating area, just down a small set of stairs and somewhat out of the view of the main room. This is known circle of seats is where Zander is often found, holding court or entertaining some of his closest allies and others of importance. For those who had known The Haze prior to it being re-purposed as a lounge, they would recognize this as the seating room of the Dire Wolf's home, as The Haze was once her home. This room was kept mostly to its original design.
'Beyond the haze' is a known expression, for those who have come to The Haze for its alternative amenities. Beyond the haze refers to a door that looks like a plain metal door, no adornments or signs mark it. This door is tucked into a hallway that also has the doors to the kitchen and the privies. Taking that door would lead one to the lower floors of The Haze, containing a whole second nightclub and hot springs soaking pools. This club is illuminated by blue-flame lights, kept dim for privacy with a layout of booths and round tables that have been set up in a way so that no one booth could have sight to another.
The hot tub pools are off to one side of the club, complete with choices between saltwater and mineral pools. All of the pools are fed by an underground spring system that naturally runs warm, amplified by a hybrid mecha-magical system that brings the temperature up to a soothing and rejuvenating level.
