Meanwhile, in 2410...
EARTH SPACE DOCK TRAFFIC NOTIFICATION: The historical artifact, Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster, is passing through Earth orbit once again today. Please be on the lookout to avoid possible collisions with this piece of earth history. Starfleet's engineers are headed up now to get Starman playing again, and then we'll send it on its way.

At the close of the Iconian War, Starfleet began reassessing its fleet strength. Replacing what was lost to the war. As well as refitting the fleet that remained. The Odyssey-class was expanded to include several variants. The Starship Enterprise, NCC-1701-F, recently completed its first major refit since her launch. She reappeared on the scene sporting physical changes. Taken from across the Odyssey line. Which are subtle except to the most experienced Engineers.

Color me positively shocked.

The Research and Development Pack is a pack of various R&D resources available on the C-Store for 300 Zen. Basically, better quality resources than might come from mission drops or from the scanning mini-game which make appearances inside of actual missions.

Now every so often, Cryptic offers what they call the Infinity R & D Pack. Which offer the additional chance to loot limited edition starships from retired Lock Boxes past. With the TOS Constitution-class, Klingon D-7 or Romulan Bird-of-Prey for the endgame Being completely unique to this promotion. What some having called this the ultimate trolling by a game company.

I have taken chances every so often with this promotion since its introduction. Having given up on actually obtaining what I had hoped for. I just now bought six (6) Infinity Research and Development Packs due to the Flash Sale being all day. Using mostly Zen obtained as a Lifetime account holder. After eight (8) years of preaching in favor of, begging for, and after having been trolled to death by Cryptic Studios, and having descended into casual gamers pessimism, box number six dropped my hearts desire.

That endgame Constitution-class starship. It is MINE. <3 <3 <3

Patch Notes!
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the launch of Deep Space Nine, and the team for Star Trek Online couldn’t wait to mark the occasion with our fourth full expansion: Victory is Life. The only way we could see to top our previous expansions was to not only introduce a brand new player faction in the Jem’Hadar, but also throw in a level cap increase from 60 to 65!

Starting today, Captains in Star Trek Online will have the opportunity to create a brand new captain in their own Jem’Hadar faction. All Jem’Hadar captains will be as formidable right out of space dock as their namesakes, as they will be leveled up to 60 with a fully equipped ship, a fully geared crew, and a variety of completed Reputations, Specialization trees, and R&D progress. As a fresh captain you will have all the tools you need at your disposal to dive in and play Star Trek Online right at end game, all 100% for free.

On top of the ability to create a brand new Jem’Hadar captain that starts at end game, we’re delivering the first level cap increase in nearly four years. We have a variety of exciting content available for everyone. We’ll have 7 brand new episodes that will take you through an incredible story full of twists and reveals, a new queue, “Swarm,” that shows the devastating impact of the Hur’q, the all new Gamma Quadrant Sector Space Battlezone that takes the concept of a battlezone and increases the scope to include literally everyone playing in the Quadrant, and the Gamma Task Force Reputation that will give you everything you need to take the fight to the Hur’q. Players that create their Jem’Hadar captains during the first six weeks of launch will also be able to participate in the new Jem’Hadar recruitment system. This system provides challenges for captains to complete that will provide bonus personal and account wide rewards. This collection of fantastic content will put you in the boots of a Jem’Hadar, and give you a true Deep Space Nine experience.

The story that drives Victory is Life dives deep into the history of the Hur’q, the Dominion, and is rich with classic DS9 moments. To tell such an incredible tale we needed an incredible cast, and we were able to feature nearly the entire main cast of Deep Space Nine. We have Rene Auberjonois returning as Odo, Nana Visitor as Kira Nerys, Alexander Siddig as Dr. Julian Bashir, Andrew Robinson as Elim Garak, Armin Shimerman as Quark, Aron Eisenberg as Nog, Jeffrey Combs as Weyoun and Brunt, J.G. Hertzler as Martok, Chase Masterson as Leeta, Max Grodenchik as Rom, Salome Jens as the Female Changeling, and Bumper Robinson as Dukan’Rex. All in all, this is the largest cast we’ve ever assembled for an expansion and with a story you have to play to believe.

This is an expansion that the team has been wanting to build since the launch of Star Trek Online, and we’re so proud to be able to deliver it during the 25th Anniversary celebration.

Victory is Life brings intrigue, excitement, and amazing characters into Star Trek Online, and I can’t wait to see everyone in game!

The sun was setting, lengthening the shadows and giving Starfleet Academy a beautiful, orange glow. This was Captain Anton Schaefer’s favorite time of day. Normally, it would be time to pack up, go home, maybe visit his favorite little Italian restaurant in North Beach, and see what kind of trouble he could get himself into. As a Starfleet Captain and an instructor at the Academy, it usually wasn’t much. Most nights, he would be about to order when a gaggle of his students would wander in, eyes wide that their teacher was a human being who had a social life, too.

But tonight would be different. He loved that magic hour light, but it was getting too dim to see the mountain of paperwork he still had to go through before he could turn in for the night.

“Computer, lights.” He said. There was a small buzz, and his office lit up with harsh, white light. He blinked and shook his head, closing his eyes until everything adjusted. He liked to keep things comfortable, relaxed even in his office. Hell, in his younger days he might’ve even unbuttoned the top of his uniform on a night like this. But there was tension in the air, and it weighed on every part of this hallowed institution. To be casual now would be to seem like he didn’t care.

Three days ago, the U.S.S. Shenzou had encountered a Klingon ship in a binary star system on the outer edge of Federation space. A combination of failed diplomacy and, of all things, an on-board mutiny had lead to the first major conflict with the Klingons in over a decade. The Battle at the Binary Stars, they were calling it.

Four days ago, his classes had been looking forward to a future of exploration amongst the stars. Now, Starfleet was at war. Schaefer knew what was needed – he’d gotten into plenty of scraps out there in the black, before he settled down here to teach. These kids were bright, and enthusiastic. One red head cadet in particular seemed to see the whole world with an infectious optimism. He hated to see them beaten down by the terrors of war.

Schaefer stood up, and walked to his window, looking out onto the lights of San Francisco, twinkling in the distance. All right then, if the universe was going to beat these kids down, he could show them how to spit in its eye. Humanity had a place up there, in the whole wide universe, and he’d be damned if the universe was going to crush his cadets down. Let ‘em shine bright.

Weeks after the Battle at the Binary Stars, a lot has changed for the Federation, and for your class of 2256. The galaxy is still in turmoil over the beginning of war with the Klingons, but today is a day for celebration. You and your friends, including underclassman Sylvia Tilly, will be taking your first steps into the Final Frontier. It’s a training cruise, just to get your feet wet.

With the launch of Age of Discovery, you’ll be able to create a Discovery Era Starfleet character. Choose from a few Discovery era races, head out into space on a Malachowski-class Starship, and experience a reimagined starting experience that will begin a new journey in Star Trek Online. We can’t wait for you to boldly go where no one has gone before.
If that really is Tilly using the Devs character tools, they knocked this out the ballpark. It captures her perfectly.
