Re: [PG] Pokemon GO

Tash and I had our first Pokemon outing. Technically it was a Vintage Games event, held at the Michigan Science Center, but it was also an event where two pokestops were set with lures all night long and there were some REALLY good catches. A bunch of our friends were out there, so it was 'hey, this...

Re: Pokemon GO

I'm playing! I actually love the combination of activity and gaming. I went out and walked nearly three miles in 85+ degree heat and high humidity just to get to some pokestops and hunt down pokemon. We have a large group of friends in this area playing, so Facebook group and I've seen some group pi...

Re: Name A Thing That Made You Happy

Life.

It's just insanely good. Work is amazing, challenging and rewarding, a boss who respects and seriously appreciates me. Hobbies, friends to hang out with and all sorts of activities, weekends of LARPs, road trips, renaissance festival season coming.

Re: Captain America: Civil War

Yep! Tash and I went to see it on Thursday night. I loved it. Admittedly I was flat our exhausted when we went to see it, so I want to go see it again and make sure there wasn't anything I missed, but I'm really happy with this addition to the collection of Marvel movies.

Re: Leather Pouch Project

Yay for leatherwork! The pouch looks awesome! I have a question. Would making dog collars/harnesses be something you would be willing to do? My youngest pup is still growing so it wouldn't be an immediate order but if it's something you would be interested in taking on, I'd love to outfit my goblin...

Re: Leather Pouch Project

One slight flaw, but definitely looking like a pouch (inside out at the moment. It's not even a pattern flaw, luckily, just a matter of starting the holes too far down on one side (off by 1-2), so the other side is higher than it should be. I'm pretty sure I'll still get a functional test pouch out ...

Re: Leather Pouch Project

I've put some more time into this project... and it's finally starting to look like a pouch! First up, cutting the two pieces that come from the heavier leather. I got a brand new pair of steel shears with serrated edges to help with this project. Best shears I have ever owned and they will ONLY be ...

Re: Leather Pouch Project

Slight progress. We got home from the zoo, ate dinner and then a nap bomb went off. I did not nap, but I had zero energy and had written the day off for my pouch project. Then Tash and I ran an errand and I was feeling okay.. so I did the tracing and cutting of the soft leather parts. Three parts do...

Re: Leather Pouch Project

Tonight was the night. I kept putting off pouch pattern work to make bracelets or fret over whether I'd be able to handle this project (first one on my own, nobody teaching or checking my work, etc). I've decided to do all of my pattern work on poster board, unless I need to use a different material...

Re: Name A Thing That Made You Happy

5-0 Ice Hockey win!

Playing in a men's league, defense as usual. Three 15 minute periods (I'm used to three 10s), and super fast paced, such a great challenge! Got some mad props and respect from my teammates and made some great plays.

It was a seriously fun time!

Leather Pouch Project

So.. Tash has been gently prodding me to get back into my crafts, one of which is my leather work. A trip to Tandy Leather (having an actual store nearby is dangerous!) produced this: https://www.raven-mythic.com/images/gallery/14221/LeatherPouches/images/2016-04-09%2015.46.31.jpg Which led to me ta...

Re: The Kudos Spam Thread Part the 2nd!

To Tash, Tash's Mom and Tash's Dad!

I got a text message today saying that SEVEN pieces of my jewelry sold. Tash has been supporting my climb towards being a solid artisan and Tash's Mom and Dad are having fun marketing my pieces locally. I'm just tickled pink that my stuff is loved so much!

Re: Name A Thing That Made You Happy

I have the start of a leatherworking kit!

Tash and I took a trip to Tandy Leather today, and I now have all of the most basic tools, enough to allow me to start with pouches and other small items.

So. Happy.

Leather Wrap Bracelets

Another style I picked up. So far I've been working with 4mm Czech fire-polished glass woven onto leather cord. I may try some alternative components to the Czech glass, but I do love the look. I make the extra sturdy, as this makes a good style for LARP and just regular wear, with each glass bead b...

I need me one or two of these...how much do they cost and do you post to Scotland? >.< I'm more than willing to post to Scotland. The post costs run ~$32 USD, as a heads up. That aside, I'm selling this style of bracelet for $30 USD each, and each one is made as requested, so time from order to shi...

Plum / Blader
Kunoichi / Ninja
I was hoping to see this group of classes in game, as I wanted to try the Kunoichi and Plum, but neither are.

Re: [BDO] Black Desert Online

I grabbed it. The idea of another P2P style game was pretty tempting. I started a Witch, but want to play with a couple of different classes. I'm eagerly awaiting the Plum and Kunoichi. If I can get used to the keybinding system, I may try a Valkyrie.

Re: Daybreak President announces EQN cancellation

Fuck Landmark. I was only beta testing it because I was led to believe that it would lead to EQN. Now it's just Minecraft with prettier graphics that's cashing in on the EverQuest name. To hell with it. I've already uninstalled the beta and canceled my All Access subscription. Daybreak gets no more...
